October 27, 2014 -- Learning from Real Life Entrepreneurs
Choose one entrepreneur from the video link below and watch the video. Take notes over him/her, similar to what you did for Bill Gates (Background Information, How the Business Grew, Unique Ideas/Strategies & What Others Can Learn). The videos are all 25 minutes long and the notes are to be passed in by the end of class. Bloomberg Game Changers

October 16, 2014 -- Connecting the Factors of Production to Ebola Crisis in Africa
1. Use your notes from the 4 articles you read to find examples of the Factors of Production.
Go through the notes you took and highlight information that would fit under the 4 Factors of Production. You will probably find less under Land (water, etc) and Entrepreneur. Look at Entrepreneur as "who is in charge."

2. Take the highlights and write a paragraph for each Factor of Production based on your notes and the articles you read. For example: Explain what Labor goes into dealing with the Ebola crisis and what problems/issues there are with providing the labor needed and give at least one specific example to example. Do the same for Land, Capital and Entrepreneur. Use complete sentences and make sure it is in your own words.

  • Use the descriptions of the Factors of Production from the October 8 Wikispace for reference as well as the definitions you wrote out several classes ago.
  • Your descriptions and examples need to be specific facts from the readings/videos. For examples, if you say that "there is a shortage of places to care for the sick," you need to give some specifics regarding what is short, why, where and how it happened.
  • When I read your paragraphs, it should be obvious that you used the resources given.
