  • At the top of the page, go to Media Center.
  • Click on the "e" icon to get to the Gale Virtual Reference Library. It will ask for a password which is "valley".
  • Once you get to the Gale site, use the search space at the top to enter in the company name and/or founder.

  • Scroll down to the very bottom of the homepage. Click on “Company Histories”.
  • From there use the alphabet tool to find the name of the company (or search tool).

  • At the top of the homepage, there is a search space. Type in the name of the company.
  • It will then give you topics related to the company. Click on the one that specifically states the company.
  • It will list information from a source listed on the various tabs above it. From there, click on other tabs to get several possible sources. Many of them will be similar, if not the same. Also it tends to be the same source information as found in Funding Universe. But, at the bottom it gives a citation tool that has MLA, APA and Chicago. Also, if you scroll down, there are links to news and websites related to the company.

  • Scroll down and use the “Company Histories” & “Company Histories Part 2” categories. With the “Company Histories Part 2”, you will first be asked to choose the type of company and from there there is a list of the companies in that industry and some of the information here may be the same as what is found in fundinguniverse.com.

  • Under the category labeled “Business Biographies” has some people listed by alphabet, so if you know who the entrepreneur of the business is, he/she may be listed here.

  • Under the category labeled “Leading American Businesses”, there is a list of different businesses as well as entrepreneurs here.
